The IRS announced today that the 2020 filing season will start about 3 weeks later than usual. The IRS will start accepting returns on Friday February 12th. This is because of all the tax law changes that were in the Consolidated Appropriations bill that was signed on Dec 27th that now need to be coded into the IRS systems. In addition, IRS resources were used to send out the 2nd round of stimulus payments.
